A group of scientists from the United States and Switzerland has created a unique method of printing due to sound and viscous liquids. Henceforth, sound waves can print with honey and other viscous liquids, the authors of the innovative discovery state.
Researchers have achieved an unexpected result, using an acoustic resonator, into which the nozzle of the printer head was placed. After that, the resonator could create a standing sound wave acting on a drop of ink. Experts changed the parameters of the sound wave, and this allowed to regulate the size of the drop.
The authors of the development have tested a new method on various liquids and mixtures. Thus, they managed to print a variety of patterns and logos of their universities.
