New technology augmented reality glasses developed by French experts. The image in them is projected directly on the eye, not on the lenses. In the future, this will make such glasses indistinguishable from conventional optics.
“Instead of starting with the development of displays and trying to make them as small as possible, we started with the fact that smart glasses should look and feel like normal,” says team leader Christopher Martinez of the Leti Research Lab. “The implementation of this concept required an enormous amount of imagination, since we abandoned the usual bulky optical components and instead used them to form the image of the eye itself.”
The combination of holographic optics and semiconductors adjusts the phase and coherence of the photons so that the image projected on the eye is clear.
The first working model that French engineers plan to assemble will have a 300 by 300 pixel monochrome display. You can also overlay one on top of the other.
So far, however, technology exists only in the form of a prototype with limited capabilities. He is able to visualize text and icons, but to project a video - not yet, writes New Atlas. But already in its present form, the invention, for example, will facilitate reading for the visually impaired.
“Using a holographic element to form a display on the retina is different from the traditional pixel grid of conventional screens,” explains Martinez. “For example, information can be projected into the left or right area of the visual field without information in the middle so as not to increase the complexity of the display.”

The startup Essential, founded by Android operating system developer Andy Rubin (pictured above), started creating a smartphone with artificial intelligence that will take over some of the routine tasks of the owner. It is reported by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.
According to available information, the new Essential smartphone will receive a small screen and will be sharpened under control through voice commands. In addition, due to the presence of built-in artificial intelligence, the device will be able to automatically reply to e-mail and text messages in messengers, imitating the style of the owner, as well as - to make appointments.
