Participants in XDA-developers forums found in Sony smartphones a screen mode with a frequency of 120 Hz. Enable it with standard methods is not possible, for this you need to flashing the smartphone for a specially modified assembly of AOSP. This will reduce the quality of the camera, but will enjoy a higher frame rate. Some of the users who tried the regime say they feel the difference between it and the traditional 60 Hz, others say that nothing changes, and the difference in perception is explained by the placebo effect. Apparently, Android does not yet work very well with 120-Hz displays, so Sony turned off the mode.
Initially, the hidden mode was detected on the Sony Xperia XZ Premium, where it is only available with a resolution of 1080p, but was later found on most Sony top-end computers and even in some budget devices. The complete list looks like this: Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, XA2, XA2 Ultra. (The novelties of the XZ2 series have not been tested yet.) Recall, at the moment, only the Razer Phone and several generations of Sharp smartphones are officially supported.
