British scientists said that the first genetically modified people will appear in Europe, since now studies on the modification of human DNA for the treatment of blood disease have been successfully carried out. This is transmitted by the overseas media.
Professor Robin Lovell-Badge of the London-based Francis Crick Institute claims that humans will for the first time be genetically modified in Europe, as physicians by DNA splicing intend to cure blood diseases and increase hemoglobin production. Scientists from the biotechnology company Crispr hope that they will be able to change DNA to stop the genetic mutation and restore healthy hemoglobin levels.
According to researchers, this is the first disease in the world that will be treated by this method. Scientists plan to remove a gene that inhibits protein growth and will allow the patient's bone marrow to produce high levels of hemoglobin again.
