Experts in search and purchase of IT talent and managers of the largest Ukrainian IT-companies during the Software Development Forum 4.0 discussed, how it can change the market in three years. The number of specialists will increase about two times. And they will have more competencies that will lead to the emergence of new products and services. There are serious challenges. Chief among them is the extremely low level of professional education and outdated teaching methods in schools. The fourth industrial revolution is coming, but we're not ready for it.
Twice it people
Within three years, Ukraine should receive the additional about 100,000 IT engineers, predicts the Director of search and purchase talents SoftServe Konstantin Pilipchuk. Now, according to his estimates, this figure is about 70 000-100 000 people. By 2020, Ukraine will be about 180 000 people, according to the presentation of another large IT company EPAM. The major players forecasts agree: the number of it specialists will grow by about two times.
According to Pylypchuk, teams will be during this time more Mature and competent. This will give the opportunity to produce in Ukraine products with higher added value. Startups will appear with the more advanced commands.

SoftServe, EPAM and Luxoft, the representatives of which spoke at the conference, is the largest in number of staff IT company in Ukraine. According to the relevant resource DOU, there are 171 respectively 4, 4 and 3 500 735 employees. Each of them controls less than 5-10% of the market. In Ukraine yet companies that could be called IT-giants. But they will come.
Engulf Google local players?
One of the main challenges is the appearance of the country's R&D projects of a much larger global players. "We have not seen competition for talent", - said the chief specialist EPAM talent (Head of Talent Acquisition) Roman Rapacilo. According to his presentation, in Ukraine the lowest level of competition for IT professionals in Eastern Europe. And many world leaders have not had time to assess fully the potential of the Ukrainians. According to Pylypchuk, foreign customers come to us not because our specialists are cheaper, and because in the countries of their presence is simply impossible to find employees.
Due to the lack of personnel in Ukraine are turning more and more companies. "Imagine that our market comes Google opens office and R&D per thousand people. Do? - asks Konstantin Pilipchuk. - Yes, easily." According to him, in this case, the local leaders will immediately feel the outflow of personnel.
Losing people is expensive, admits managing Director, Luxoft Ukraine Alexander alkhimovich. The cost of the care of only two specialists equal to the value of used cars. If the Ukrainian IT-companies will not invest in mechanisms of self-training, but only to outbid them the old fashioned way, "sooner or later they will eat Google," said Pilipchuk. Money to outbid them, he just had enough.

Luxoft is training of specialists, says alkhimovich. A few months training one person to spend $500-800. The arrival of large players in the future brings to local companies and pros, she adds. For example, when Samsung was founded by our market R&D center, the local market is not affected. On the contrary, the arrival of such players in her opinion, helps to explain to customers where Ukraine is on the global map of IT outsourcing. “We ask, do you have development centers Google and Facebook, and we answer: well, we have McDonalds and Uber” - jokes it. According to alkhimovich, the emergence in Ukraine of well-known brands will be a certain indication that our country just to do business.
Goodbye, a stable job!
In the coming years, the Ukrainian market is waiting for a more serious challenge, says Alexander alkhimovich. According to her, the surrounding chaos has become a system, and it is connected with the advent of the fourth industrial revolution. Its signs are looming not far away, at the economic panel in Davos, and begin to manifest in our market. The next industrial revolution brings automation and robotization of business processes and introduction of artificial intelligence systems in familiar areas of life. For it people it is a big challenge: decisions on which to work, become much harder. Now we need not just to be able to write code and complex thinking, to have knowledge in other fields of medicine, science, sales. Future engineering projects will be at the junction of industries, biology and programming, medicine and robotics.
"It is not enough to know Java to make a product for the Bank. Because the Bank already has its own IT platform, which should know. And secondly, we need to understand the finances", - says the Manager of SoftServe. Alkhimovich recalls that recently the project took testers with knowledge of Geology. First, try to teach a team of testers of Geology - did not happen. We had to recruit geologists and teach them IT.
Ultimately, the lack of people who can think big, be flexible to change, as explained by talent scouts associated with an outdated education system. "At school we are still taught very intelligent robots", - joked one of the IT managers. But universities are not able to get spices. It will still have to complete their education and to retrain.
